Club Activities

Discussions

The club organizes a weekly disscussion - usually on Fridays - led by its academic organizers. In each discussion, the members answer questions related to the scientific content they were asked to study through the week. The discussions last between 2 - 3 hours, and each member earns points depending on their performance.

Simulation Labs

In the scientific labs, our members are provided with astronomical data obtained from real-life observatories, upon which they apply the knowledge they earned to reach conclusions concerning these data. These data include brightnesses, temperatures, and light spectra of various stars and galaxies.

Scientific Computation

Programming is an essential part of the members' academic journey. They learn the basics of the programming language Python, which they then use to apply scientific formulae to astronomical data to reach conclusions, saving a massive amount of calculation time.

Non-Academic Activities

Aside from the academics, the club organizes various activities in which the members get to know each other better and have fun together. This includes online contests, chat games, and meet ups, offering an opportunity to create social connections and make more friends. Online activities happen weekly, while hangouts are less frequent.
